Château de Vauville Botanical Gardens
Classed 'jardin remarquable' in 2004, the Vauville Botanical gardens covers over 9 acres and is home to more than 700 species from the southern hemisphere. Around the chateau, architectural jewel of the Cotentin peninsula, the gardens are like a succession of green rooms, with an extraordinary subtropical atmosphere overlooking the sea.
Château de Nacqueville and its park
This magnificent romatic park in the English style was created in 1830 by Hippolyte de Tocqueville, wanting nothing less than one of 'the most beautiful places in the world' according to his brother, Alexis.
Waterfalls, floral fountains and a river snaking across the grounds, there is a beautiful view of the sea. A realm of azaleas and rhododendrons that decorate the stone and granite of the 16th centuy chateau.
Jacques Prévert Gardens
These gardens were created in honour of the great poet and were classed as a 'Jardin Remarquable' in 2005. The garden is situated in the shelter of the wind that blows up the Vallée des Moulins behind Port Racine. There are many trees and bushes donated by famous friends of Prévert, which flourish along the water and make this highly original garden utterly charming.
Walking around you'll find the plantlife is arranged in a kind of harmony with the written works of the poet.
Epinerie Gardens
A small park, tucked away in the Hague countryside, the Jardins de l'Epinerie are a succession of different colours, spaces and constructions, with a subtle variety of trees and other plant life.
