Surtainville beach

This long fine sand beach is an appropriate place for bathing, fishing and water sports.

All the year round, Surtainville Beach enables people to go paddle-boarding, a near unique activity in France proposed by the Cotentin Paddle Board, a coast life-saving club, affiliated to the 'Fédération Francaise de Sauvetage et de Secourisme'. This is a fun, physical and educational activity at the same time,  consisting in discovering and practising sea rescuing.

The numerous fish species of our coast give you the opportunity to go land or boat fishing, surfcasting and 'paillots' fishing – hooked lines left on the sand waiting for high tide. Fishers on the beach will be glad to answer your questions.

Surtainville is one of the surfing spots of the Cotentin west coast. The sea rollers are an enjoyable chance for water sports lovers and professionals to practise big thrilled surfboarding.
Furthermore, the foreshore provides a perfect space to go land yachting and speedsailing all year long.
Within the framework of 'Venez passer l'été sur la plage', you may meet at the beach all summer for sports activities: soccer, sand-ball, rugby, etc.
Moreover, at Surtainville, the sea is for everybody thanks to an idea, the 'Tiralo': all summer long from 11am to 7pm, you may go to the MNS first-aid post and ask for amphibious equipment thus permitting disabled people to go bathing.
